ELIZABETH PARKER “Adhem” Foundry Bronze Modern Equine Bust in Black Patina on Mahogany
Named “Adhem”, this foundry bronze bust of a horse has wonderful character and modern sensibility. A black patina adds a somber starkness to the piece, complemented by a Mahogany plinth base.
About the Artist:
Elizabeth Parker is a contemporary sculptor who started her artistic career in painting. She experienced a major car accident in 2012, causing her a traumatic brain injury. On her road to recovery, her cousin gifted her some clay, and she began exercising her artistic talent in this new medium. She now primarily sculpts, taking months to create charismatic details in her sculptures, skillfully and without a reference. Once the sculpture is completed, she sends them to a foundry in Vermont, where the piece is cast in bronze with great detail. A patina is skillfully applied before the piece is mounted to its base.
