ELIZABETH PARKER “Rusty” Foundry Bronze Bay Equine Bust on Vermont Marble
Named “Rusty”, this foundry bronze bust of a bay horse has wonderful character and texture, including his wind-swept mane. Mounted to a dark Vermont marble base, this piece allows the natural bronze color to shine.
About the Artist:
Elizabeth Parker is a contemporary sculptor who started her artistic career in painting. She experienced a major car accident in 2012, causing her a traumatic brain injury. On her road to recovery, her cousin gifted her some clay, and she began exercising her artistic talent in this new medium. She now primarily sculpts, taking months to create charismatic details in her sculptures, skillfully and without a reference. Once the sculpture is completed, she sends them to a foundry in Vermont, where the piece is cast in bronze with great detail. A patina is skillfully applied before the piece is mounted to its base.

Circa 1977, this large bronze sculpture by American artist Lorenzo E. Ghilieri (1931-2020) depicts a pair of large orca whales bursting from the ocean in the midst of a hunt.
