About the Artist: 

Angelo Basso (1943-2011) is a self taught Italian sculptor who brings a contemporary flare to the typical Baroque tradition of his home country.  Premiering his first solo exhibition at the ripe age of 18 years old, Basso exemplifies a profound knowledge of human anatomy.  His female figures exude elegance, pride, and confidence while remaining soft and gentle.  What makes Basso’s work so compelling is the dynamic movement of each figure crafted from a rather sturdy and unyielding medium.
