ERNEST WANTE (1872-1960) “Woman on Donkey” Bronze Sculpture
$1,650.00
This bronze sculpture by Belgian artist Ernest Wante (1872-1960) depicts a finely dressed female figure mounted on the back of a donkey. Resting on a base of green marble, the woman tenderly peers down to meet eyes with her faithful steed, creating a sentimental scene of charm and tenderness that delights in both seasoned art collections and quaint tabletop décor arrangements. This original bronze has accrued a well-loved patina over its rich history and has been signed in the casting by the artist along the bottom of its base.

PAUL J. NELSON (1970-) “Red Gong” Cast and Acid Etched Glass Sculpture
$695.00
This sculpture by contemporary artist Paul J. Nelson is crafted from cast and acid etched glass and depicts a creature-like abstract form wrapping lanky tendrils around a second, tubular structure; the blackened glass being illuminated by cindering tones of glowing red. Nelson, a graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, draws inspiration from bizarre tools and everyday objects, his work juxtaposed by brooding dark comedy, epic fantasy, and a quest for depth in meaning. Resting in a slender stand steadied by a square base, this original sculpture is unsigned by the artist, but is affixed with a title sticker on its underside.

Vintage CURTIS JERÉ Abstract Floral Wall Sculpture
$495.00
Fabricated from brass, this early sculpture by Curtis Jeré depicts a cacophony of abstracted floral designs that resemble waving cattails or perhaps some foreign marsh plant. Wall mounted, this sculpture’s patinated brass construction provides a beautifully industrial contrast to the stylized organic subject matter this piece of art presents. Perfect for the beginning or seasoned art collector, this sizable sculpture is signed and dated to 1968 by the artists.
About the Artist:
C. Jeré is a compound nom de plume of Jerry Fels and Curtis Freiler, two brother-in-laws. They were metalworking artists who focused on home accessories and wall sculptures. The works of C. Jeré were produced and marketed by Artisan House, an art production for the average consumer that was founded by the duo in 1963. Freiler was the chief of production and Fels was the chief of design. They employed a great number of minorities and handicapped people and at one point employed 300 people. They sold the company in 1972. Early C. Jeré works were produced in California, but continue to be made overseas since the company’s outsourcing in 2003. Freiler passed away in 2008, Fels in 2013 at 103 years old.

ELIZABETH PARKER “Comet” Foundry Bronze Grey Equine Bust on Mahogany
Named “Comet”, this foundry bronze bust of a horse has wonderful character with large, dark eyes. A grey patina has been applied with great contrast to the exposed bronze details. A mahogany plinth base steadies this sculpture.
About the Artist:
Elizabeth Parker is a contemporary sculptor who started her artistic career in painting. She experienced a major car accident in 2012, causing her a traumatic brain injury. On her road to recovery, her cousin gifted her some clay, and she began exercising her artistic talent in this new medium. She now primarily sculpts, taking months to create charismatic details in her sculptures, skillfully and without a reference. Once the sculpture is completed, she sends them to a foundry in Vermont, where the piece is cast in bronze with great detail. A patina is skillfully applied before the piece is mounted to its base.

LORENZO E. GHILIERI (1931-2020) Bronze Sculpture of Orcas Hunting
Circa 1977, this large bronze sculpture by American artist Lorenzo E. Ghilieri (1931-2020) depicts a pair of large orca whales bursting from the ocean in the midst of a hunt. This is a highly dramatic piece, heightened even further by the crashing waves Ghilieri has sculpted into the bronze. One of the most prolific sculptors of the American northwest, Ghilieri’s masterful attention to detail in this bronze is a testament to why his work has been held on permanent display at the White House and the Vatican. This is a large, magnificent piece of art that has patinated beautifully over the years and will feature prominently in any art collection.
