Originating from Oaxaca, Mexico, this alebrije statue by Mexican artist Jacobo Angeles (1973-) depicts an armadillo in bright, multicolored tones of paint. Denoted for the intricate designs he paints on his alebrije figures, Angeles’ works have been shown internationally including at the Vatican, India, and Japan. This colorful, ethnic sculpture is freestanding and signed on the bottom by the artist.
