This original clay sculpture by Russian-born American artist Alexander Ney (1939-) depicts a striking, contemporary portrait of an elongated skull, stylized with a heavily perforated surface. Best known for his unique take on clay and terracotta sculpture, Ney emigrated to the United States in 1974 with the encouragement of Elaine de Kooning and currently resides and works in New York City where he is a regular staple amongst the gallery and museum circuit. Freestanding, this large, original sculpture is signed in pen by Ney on its underside.
