Large carved figure by German Village artist Martin Tischler circa 1970 is smoothly styled in the form of a woman, draped in cloth with a short, blunt haircut. Tischler was a woodworker based in German Village, Columbus and was the son of Rookwood Pottery artist Vera Tischler. A medium-light finish has a satin gloss, highlighting the wood grain. A square base has a slightly darker finish. Carved signature on underside.
