“Siamese Cat” mixed media piece by local Columbus, Ohio artist Levent Isik bears the bold style of folk art. Colorblocking of red and white, and black and purple, dimensionally frames the titular cat. The cat has a small plush face with fur, blue eyes, a pink nose, and a red mouth. Black and white stripes color the cat, with a red fringe shag. A yellow background has a green and white border. Signed and titled on front and back, dated October 2003.
About the Artist:
Levent Isik (1961-2019) was a Columbus based Folk artist who began painting as personal expression without expectation of a career. His vibrant colors, bold forms, engaging use of materials, and sculptural approach to the two dimensional. His use of polyurethane to finish his pieces creates an alluring, glossy sheen.

His poetic soul was evident in his philosophy as an artist.
