NEIL BAKER (1960-) Signed Thunderbird Carving with Fish

This carved statue by First Nations artist Neil Baker depicts a legendary Thunderbird from indigenous mythology. Carved from wood and polychromed in black, red, and green, the thunderbird casts a commanding figure as it looms over a caught fish that has been carved into the base of the statue. This piece originates from Squamish, British Columbia and is signed and titled by the artist on the underside of the sculpture’s base.
