Circa 1915, this antique original oil on board painting titled “Along the Canal” depicts a tranquil canal scene with windmills in the background. Artist Niklass August (1879-1949) lived and worked in Alkmarr, North Holland, and studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Amsterdam. He primarily worked in the Impressionist style, best known for his canal scenes and landscapes. Housed in a new, hand gilt frame. Includes certificate of authenticity.
