DEBORAH BANYAS Mixed Media Sculpture

This humorous mixed media sculpture by Ohio-based American artist Deborah Banyas depicts an anthropomorphic dog holding a cactus while resting in a small, purple armchair. Known for her playful, contemporary sculptures, Banyas runs Riverdog, a studio and gallery in Wakeman, Ohio with her partner, T.P. Speer. Crafted with polymer clay and painted, stuffed fabrics, this small sculpture is signed and dated by Banyas on the underside of the sculpture, and is sure to elicit delight from all viewers.
