A natural, beautiful patina has befallen this curious piece of art, which has been cast in a lost wax process that wonderfully preserves the heavily textured surface of the clay original. This statue is carved from white marble and depicts an ichthyocentaur grasping at a female nude, likely a depiction of the Greek god Triton and his consort, Libya.
