Cast in bronze, this sculpture by American contemporary artist Karin Kirulis (1950-) depicts a female figure seated in a misshapen chair; a piece of limp fabric is held in the woman’s hand, mirroring the frail and withered form of the subject. This piece showcases the natural beauty of its hand-formed clay original and, as a more substantially formed piece of art, departs from Kirulis’ usual method of direct bronze castings which tend to be more abstract in form. Mounted on a squared wooden base, this original sculpture is signed in the casting by the artist just along the bottom of the armchair.
This sculpture is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
