LEE CSURI (1927-) “Boy on Bird” Carved Wood Sculpture

Original carved wood relief sculpture by American artist Shirley “Lee” Csuri (1927-) depicts a cherub boy mounted on a large bird of prey, a dove floating above holding a floral branch. This relief is delicately hand painted and showcases Csuri’s ever-present skill in playing with traditional art mythology and quick-witted humor. Wall mounted, this original sculpture is signed and dated in carving to 1988 by the artist on the front of the sculpture, and additionally titled en verso.
