SOLD

Originating from Oaxaca, Mexico, this alebrije statue by the family of famed Mexican sculptor Manuel Jimenez Ramirez (1919-2005) depicts a prowling jungle cat in bright tones of green and dandelion yellow. Known for his alebrije figures, Jimenez only taught only his two sons, Angélico (1954-) and Isaías (1961-) his carving techniques, both of whom continue his working traditions. Freestanding, this colorful, ethnic sculpture is signed on the bottom of the jungle cat’s torso by the family.
