LOET VANDERVEEN (1921-2015) “Horse and Foal” Bronze Sculpture

SOLD

Bronze sculpture by Dutch artist Loet Vanderveen (1921-2015) depicts an elegantly rendered horse nuzzling against a foal in repose. Vanderveen’s childhood home was close to a zoo, where he developed a love for animals and safari fantasies. Originally studying fashion after serving in World War II, Vanderveen began mastering Chinese glazing techniques and forms before moving to California to create his sophisticated animal sculptures. This cast bronze sculpture exhibits a sleek dark patina that adds to its graceful forming and is signed and numbered 63/750 by the artist via etching on its underside.

This sculpture is amongst hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
